They say its a Man’s world, I totally agree, the fact is they dont know or the fail to realise the women who are ruling in their different spheres even though few are doing it with such passion, dedication, gusto and boldness, beating the men in their own game.
I was particularly delighted and encouraged by the interview on CNN, Amampour and Okonji-Iweala, she was able to articulate herself so well and was not dragged into the racket that Amampour is known for (boxing people into admitting what they did not say directly) by the way, Amampour is really good at what she does. really!!
let me come to me, I work in a corporate organization, but like the way the world is, Men still feel women should not be the bosses so I have had to assert myself severally by putting my foot down and the list is quite endless, I have had to deal with side remarks and outright rudeness in a coy way.
The traditional mentality that women should not rise above certain level is still prevalent in the corporate world mostly in Africa.
I will be sharing a lot on the women who have rose in the corporate ladder, the challenges and battle they faced and how they had to deal with it which is an ongoing battle by the way.
I usually wonder why we have few women climbing the ladder, I think I have my answers.
just a little reminder that if you feel this way, you are not alone.
A lot of men might think this is trying to rub shoulders with other men which is also the offspring the school of thought that it is a man’s world.
more to come……..

Is it necessary to measure women against men? God created us to complement each other and not to compete. Adequate understanding of this would save individuals and families the strife this brings, as its a key reason why relationships suffer and families break-up

Just a bit of Clarity…. the post is not intended to measure women against men, which is not implied at all.
Women in those days did not have to work in the corporate in environment(prevalent mostly in Africa) but with Education and enlightenment, more women are climbing the ranks and with change comes resistance.
this is what the post is all about. how to overcome such resistance and work amicably.LikeLike

If you say so cos I made that observation due to the following sentence in ur write up ‘beating the men in their own game’. You know where we are coming from, we were taught to be objective and impartial as social scientists, even if its my darling friend’s work I’m analysing. Cheers my dear

Politcal jugganuts…..hahah, even as a social scientist we are taught that before civilization like the modern world can be reached, the. 3rd world countries must go through series of war and blood shed. Euphemism is the word. ” Beating men in their own game” simply means more women are now in the corporate environment that was formally dominated by men
Who says a little competition would hurt?
Every man/woman is in it to win it, God put it in all of us. Once again read with an open mind.LikeLike
